As a devout reader of fiction and nonfiction, I am always drawn to tales and true stories that highlight the human experience. As a writer, I love to challenge myself to create “people on the page” who resemble the diverse and eclectic personalities I have witnessed in real life and in my literary dreams. I discovered that I was attracted to the written word as a girl when my mom would read to me at night before bed. As I sat on my fluffy white rug, eyes wide open listening to her expressive voice; I was taken away and suspended in whatever setting the story took place. To me, those were magical journeys that I longed for and hoped would never end. That has become my goal as a writer, to elicit the feelings for other readers that I felt back then.
