Keira Knightley’s Lipstick is Hot Pink Perfection—Here’s What She Used

In our opinion, a pink lip knows no seasonal bounds. It looks poppy in the spring and summer and surprisingly fresh in the colder months. And when you can wear hot pink lipstick and look as good Keira Knightley, why would you ever turn your back on the color? The actress showed up to the New York City premiere of The Imitation Game sporting the hottest pink lips we’ve seen in a while, and we immediately felt the need to find out what she was wearing. Chanel celebrity makeup artist Kara Yoshimoto Bua filled us in on the whole look.

“Since the dress was on the romantic side, we agreed to create a graphic, exaggerated cat-eye, which would complement her overall look and give it some edge,” Yoshimoto Bua says. She started the cat-eye with a well-sharpened Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long-Lasting Eyeliner ($32) in Noir Intense. “This cat-eye is thinner towards the nose and thicker as you pencil outward. On the outer eye, I drew a wedge, slowly building it up to create the shape on the outside corner of the eyes.” Once Yoshimoto Bua was happy with the shape, she blended the edges towards the center of the eye to create a softness. But the real focus of the look was the lip. That hot pink is Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Matte Lip Colour ($35) in Diva. Simply stunning.
