OPI Brazil Collection Spring/Summer 2014

The OPI Brazil collection for spring/summer 2014 is here!

When you think of this collection think of lush rainforests, sandy beaches and tropical flowers. The twelve new shades here are mostly cremes, but there is a fun glitter thrown in for good measure. The Brazil launch also includes a set of limited edition Beach Sandies Liquid Sand shades. There are four of them and I will review them in another post soon.

I have never been to Brazil but some of these shades fit exactly what I think of when I think about Carnival especially. Bright, fun, pretty and definitely suited to warm weather!

Don’t Bossa Nova Me Around

Don’t Bossa Nova Me Around is a soft very pale taupe/nude creme. This is a pretty shade and I was impressed that it only took two coats to cover.

Taupe-Less Beach

Taupe-Less Beach is a light taupe creme. I mean what can I say, it’s taupe, and I love me a taupe creme! It had a great formula and also was just two coats.

I Just Can’t Cope-acabana

I Just Can’t Cope-acabana is a bright sunny yellow creme. So lovely! This screams BRAZIL to me for whatever reason. I think this is going to be one of the favorites of the collection for many people. For a yellow, it was surprisingly un-streaky. This was two coats.

Where Did Suzi’s Man-go?

Where Did Suzi’s Man-go? is a bright mango-colored creme. This is another one that definitely makes me think of the vivid colors of Carnival. I detect just a teeny tiny hint of shimmer in it, but it’s basically a creme. I really love this shade and the formula was really good. Not sure I have another shade just like it. This was just two coats.

Kiss Me I’m Brazilian

Kiss Me I’m Brazilian is a bright pink creme. This one too has that very slight hint of shimmer, but barely. Very pretty intense shade, another perfect formula with two coats.

Live. Love. Carnival

Live. Love. Carnival is a bright coral creme. Another perfectly beautiful shade and nice formula! This is another fave of mine here, minus the dog hair in the photo.

Toucan Do It If You Try

Toucan Do It If You Try is a medium warm orange with a hint of coral. You can see that subtle shimmer again, but it’s really a creme. Lovely shade! I am so into all these oranges this time around. This was two coats.

Red Hot Rio

Red Hot Rio is a bright ruby red with a jelly-like finish. This is two coats and you can see the nail line but it’s so juicy and smooth looking.

I Sao Paulo Over There

I São Paulo Over There is a medium/deep brown/taupe creme. This is a nice cool-tone and of course I love it because of the taupe-factor it has. Great formula, two coats.

AmazON…AmazOFF

AmazON…AmazOFF is a deep cool-toned green with very subtle shimmer. This has a lot of blue in it, it’s more of a blackboard type of green rather than emerald or jewel-toned. It gets a little brush-stroke-y if you put too thick of a coat on (see my ring finger) but otherwise has a nice formula. Fairly unique green shade. This was two coats.

Scores a Goal!

Scores a Goal! is a deep reddish/chocolate brown creme. This had a nice creamy and smooth formula, and covered completely in two coats.

Next Stop…The Bikini Zone

Next Stop…The Bikini Zone is an amethyst/silver with loads of shimmer and micro-glitter. This had a thinner formula so I needed three coats to cover my nail tips.

Overall: Great collection! There are many shades here I really like. In fact I really like nearly all of them. There are some definite stand-outs though, and they would be I Just Can’t Cope-acabana, Where Did Suzi’s Man-go?, Live. Love. Carnival, and Toucan Do It If You Try. I liked all the nude/taupe shades also though, and Kiss Me I’m Brazilian and AmazON…AmazOFF are nothing to sneeze at!

Availability: Starting February 5th.

Pricing: $9.00.

What do you see in OPI Brazil that you will be picking up?
