Stila Eyes Are The Window Shadow Palette Soul

Stila Eyes Are The Window Shadow Palette Soul is one of four new palettes for fall 2014 being offered at Sephora and Ulta right now.

The four palettes are based on the idea that true beauty is revealed from within. The palettes include Soul, Body, Spirit and Mind, and each one includes twelve different eyeshadow shades inside either a yellow, rose or white gold shiny compact. Each palette includes a large mirror as well as a booklet featuring three looks using the shades within the palette.

I had a really hard time choosing which of these palettes I wanted to take home with me. This is the first one that jumped out at me because of the gorgeous-looking shimmery shades. The other one I decided on (which I will review soon) was Body because it features a lot of cool toned shadow. And just for your information, Mind features a mix of cool and warm-toned matte shadows and Spirit features mostly warm-toned shimmers.

Soul ($49)

1st row, going down: Light, Kitten, Thought, Vitality 2nd row, going down: Individual, Affection, Heart, Substance 3rd row, going down: Being, Character, Peace, Essence

Light, Kitten, Thought, Vitality (over primer)

Light is a pale vanilla matte.

Kitten is a light champagne/pink shimmery metallic.

Thought is a medium taupe shimmer.

Vitality is a pale taupe/gold metallic shimmer.

Individual, Affection, Heart, Substance (over primer)

Individual is a medium orange/brown matte.

Affection is an intense bronze metallic.

Heart is a soft milk-chocolate matte with a slight pinkish tone.

Substance is a medium taupe/grey metallic.

Being, Character, Peace, Essence

Being is a dark chocolate brown matte.

Character is a dark brown with reddish/gold micro-glitter.

Peace is a metallic bronze.

Essence is a black matte.

At first touch these didn’t seem all that soft and I was a little worried about how the pigmentation would be. But after rubbing my finger over the shadows a couple times, they did give me nice pigmentation and even the matte shades were nice, even and not chalky looking. The metallic and/or shimmery shades were a little more pigmented and easier to get good payoff from than the mattes or Character, with the micro-glitter. Overall I think this is a really great palette and the shades are all really pretty. I like the mix of light and dark shades, and mattes/shimmers.

Soul on top, Body underneath

I really like they way they mixed the color combinations of these up. Soul has a yellow gold lid and rose gold bottom, and Body is the opposite.

What do you think about Soul, will you be checking it out?
