If you can't take the heat, make this cookies - No bake Cookies

If you wore bell-bottoms and bodysuits, had been seen wearing platform shoes and had a record player, you probably remember eating this no-bake cookies at your house or school cafeteria lunch break. The recipe has been circulating around for a very long time and still people love to have this little treat specially this time of the year when turning on the oven is a no-no!

This particular recipe is from 30 years ago and it stresses that you need to bring the milk milk mixture to a ROLLING BOIL and then time your 3 minutes. There are a few variations on this recipe, but this one is probably my favorite. You can add peanut butter for added texture and flavor after removing from heat.

Ingredients:
2 cups sugar ½ tsp. salt ½ cup cocoa ½ cup butter 1/2 cup milk 3 cups quick oatmeal or rolled oats 2 teaspoon vanilla extract Preparation:
In a large sauce pan combine sugar, salt, cocoa, butter, milk; bring to a full boil. Boil for 3 full minute. Combine the hot mixture with the oatmeal and vanilla, remove from stove and stir well till it thickens. Working quickly, drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper or parchment paper.
