Brandy Alexander

Looking for the perfect after-dinner cocktail? Look no further! Brandy Alexander is a delectable and seductive drink for those who are chocolate lovers. From what I have learned, Brandy Alexander was the cocktail served in 1922 at the wedding of Princess Mary in London. She was the third child and only daughter of King George V and Queen Mary. As you can imagine, it wasn't long before the cocktail became extremely popular. You can find mentions of Brandy Alexander in numerous television shows, movies, and in the lyrics of many songs. John Lennon, a founding member of the Beatles, loved this cocktail. He referred to it as his “milkshake.”

I asked a mixologist friend of mine about his opinion on Brandy Alexander, since I wanted to write this post. He said, “people either love it or hate it; there is no midway for this cocktail.” I think there is a time and a place for a creamy cocktail like this, and it should be reserved for a special after-dinner occasion.
