Mother’s Day Tea Party

Make sure you are Mum’s favourite this Mother’s Day (Sunday 30th March!) by treating her to something really special – (of course by reading this article you’ll already be winning against your siblings!).

Forget taking her out for an overpriced meal in a busy restaurant – why not treat her to a simple but sophisticated afternoon tea party?

Going to the effort of creating something special will enable you to thank your Mum for everything she’s done for you; whilst giving her the opportunity to relax and indulge in delicious cakes, hot soothing tea and bubbly champagne!

For a classic afternoon tea party, serve separate layers of neatly cut sandwiches, pretty cupcakes and cream & jam laden scones - displayed attractively on a cake stand from drinkstuff.

When it comes to drinks, it is customary to serve English Breakfast tea, but perhaps serve a selection – especially if you are extending the invite to other family members. Other popular options include Earl Grey, camomile, herbal, peppermint and fruit.

Being able to spoil your mum is a great excuse to pop open a bottle of champagne and indulge in some luxurious bubbles! If you fancy being a bit more adventurous than just serving a glass of champagne on its own, experiment with some champagne cocktails – such as this refreshing recipe for Green Tea Champagne.

To decorate, brighten up the setting with some beautiful flowers displayed in one of our stylish vases. With the handmade option being the best way to impress Mum, consider also making your own bunting to adorn the walls and edges of tables, using these instructions from www.glorioustreats.com.
