After School Snacks and Arla Dofino #sponsored

Disclosure: I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Arla Dofino. I received product samples to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.

After school, my kids come home starving! It is no wonder – they ate lunch at 11:00am. By 3:30pm, they will eat whatever is in sight. Over the years, I’ve learned that it is best just to have something sitting out for them. If I don’t, it’s not long before they are raiding the chips and cookies.

I usually try to have carrots, apple slices, peanut butter, and other things out, but ever so often, they need a change.

Earlier this year, I photographed a backyard party for a friend. She had the most amazing appetizers. They are delicious and very easy to put together. {Click here for her recipe}. About ten minutes before they get home, I put together a little tray. They change clothes, grab their homework, and sit down and snack.

Knowing that they are eating Arla Dofino – free of added hormones and crafted with quality, natural ingredients – makes me worry less about what they are eating after school.

Did you know that Arla Dofino cheeses have been traditionally crafted in Kaukauna, Wisconsin for more than 100 years? You know that I love companies that are here in the U.S.A.

You can enter for a chance to win a semester’s worth of naturally good Arla Dofino cheese for all of your back-to-school lunches:

Just for fun: here is another after school recipe for you from The Naptime Chef, Kelsey Banfield

Ingredients:

  • 4 skewers
  • 1 8 oz. chunk of Arla Dofino Creamy Havarti cheese, cubed or cut into shapes (also try Havarti
with Jalapeno for a spicy kick) for 8 total pieces
  • 8 – 10 purple or green grapes
  • 4 – 6 strawberries
  • 1 kiwi

Instructions:
1. Cut the Arla Dofino Creamy Havarti cheese into 8 cubes. To make snack time more fun and kid-friendly, try using small shape cutters to cut out the Havarti into hearts or stars.
2. Spear the strawberries, grapes and kiwi on the skewer, alternating with cheese cubes, until the skewer is full.
3. Be sure to leave about one inch on either end of the skewer for easy handling. Cut off the sharp tips before adding to a lunch box.
