Recipe: Green Tea Latte
Sometimes I think I live under a rock. I had never heard of a green tea latte before. Someone I follow on Instagram posted a photo of one and I was very excited to find out how to make one myself. I actually just started drinking green tea over the last few weeks. In the past I hated it, but decided to give it another chance. Well, after only a few, I'm hooked.
Here is my recipe that I came up with after looking at a few recipes online:
Almond milk, vanilla flavored (small amount to froth)
raw sugar (use whatever amount tastes best to you)
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
one green tea bag
Boil your water for the tea and steep the tea bag for a few minutes. Mix in your sugar and the vanilla extract. While the tea is steeping you will need to froth your milk. I use these guys...
I got both the
milk jug and the
frothing tool at IKEA.
The vanilla almond milk makes the drink sweet. I don't like mine super sweet, so I put very little sugar in it and let the almond milk be the main sweet part of the drink. This is something you can adjust yourself depending on your taste. I just keep pouring the remainder of the almond milk in as I drink my tea down.
I'm thinking about challenging myself to switch to green tea in the morning and ditching the coffee. No, it doesn't mean I'll give up coffee. However, I know this would be healthy for me. I recently went to Starbucks and tried their green tea latte (without any sweeteners and soy milk) and it was amazing!
Have you ever had a green tea latte?
