Drawing Again

I used to draw like crazy when I was a teenager. After high school though I pretty much stopped. I did some interior design work which featured hand-painted murals on peoples walls, but I found myself not loving it after awhile. I simply got burned out. I have found myself inspired to pick up the hobby again. Growing up my family would always tell me to use my talent and they were right. I feel it is time to pick up a pencil again.

I find that one of the reasons I don't draw is because I don't know what to draw. I also feel like I need to doodle to find my own style. I've started out just drawing cute little sketches of cats. All my kitty drawings so far have just been my own, not copied from anyone else. I've always struggled with coming up with my own things to draw. I recently bought a drawing tablet to use with my computer. It's way harder to use then I thought it would be. Everything I was doodling looked like a toddler drew it.

One of my first drawings was of Jake from Adventure Time. Not very good, but practice makes perfect. It's way different drawing on the tablet then on paper. I will just keep trying until my drawings get better. I think I will always prefer paper and markers though. :) I have tons of ideas of things I want to draw, so now I am making sure I allow myself time to do so every week. I can't wait to keep sharing more of them here on the blog.
Some talented bloggers that really inspire me:
Angel from Artsy Angel // Crissy from Dainty Fawn // Jennifer from Red Parka
P.S. Sorry for my lack of posts. We had to go on an emergency trip for family. Now I'm back and ready to get back to my normal routine. :)
