Netflix Must See // Derek

Derek is a television series based on a small group of people that work at a nursing home. I wasn't sure about it at first, but I'm glad that I kept watching it. I wasn't sure where the story was going and what type of show it was.

Ricky Gervais plays the main character Derek, a loving and compassionate care giver. The overall theme of the show is kindness, which I didn't expect at first. The show is full of adult themes, bad language, and dark humor (thanks Ricky) but as you watch it you start to feel emotional. The show really tugs at the heart strings and I found myself crying many times.

The show makes you think about life and how short it really is. I love that the overall theme of the show is being kind to others. It has so many messages in it that I feel are so important. If everyone was kinder the world truly would be a better place. Derek demonstrates that in the show. I recommend watching the TV series An Idiot Abroad before watching Derek (if you can) only because it will probably be funnier for you. An Idiot Abroad is also another one of my favorite TV series on Netflix.

Season two premiers on Netflix on May 30th! So hurry up and watch season one!
