Our Upstairs Bathroom // Before & After

Finally done with another room remodel! Our (what was) ugly upstairs bathroom. Gosh, I wish we would of done this when we first moved in. It's unfortunate that we won't really get to enjoy our hard work for very long. It will be someone else's home to enjoy soon.

The bathroom before was very dated and dark. My goal in our house has been to brighten everything up. I think I have accomplished that very well!

We were going to keep the laminate flooring, but after much consideration ripped it out. I'm so glad we went with white tile. It really makes the room look bigger. We decided on the white bead-board on the walls to match our kitchen back-splash. I'm all about making a house "flow" with similar designs throughout. (It's good for resale!) Probably my favorite thing in the bathroom is my faucet. I picked it up at a thrift store for $5.00!!!!! Score.

I really hate buying new stuff, so I try really hard to reuse things. I kept the old vanity and just replaced the hardware and painted it white. I think it turned out great. One mistake we made though, was we assumed it was a standard size. When we went to install the new vanity top we had purchased from Home Depot it didn't fit. Oops. Lucky for us we did find one that was the correct size at another hardware store. If we wouldn't of found it though, it would of cost us over $500 to custom order one. Lesson learned = always measure. Gotta love home remodels! ;)

This bathroom probably took us about a month and a half to complete. With so many interruptions and Cody working crazy hours, it's hard to complete anything in a timely manner. Here are a few of my favorite photos from the remodel....

It feels so good to be so close to our "remodeling finish line". We hope to have our house on the market within the next few weeks. I really have a lot to fill you guys in on and I'm sorry I've become a stranger to the blogging world. Hopefully after seeing these photos you can understand why. I work on our house projects everyday all day and I'm so tired I just crash. I will be so glad when it's all finished. Soon I hope... *fingers crossed*
If you have any questions about anything you see in the photos, please just ask.
