Portland House Preview

I found a house! It was way harder then I thought it was going to be and also not as fun as I had hoped. Mainly just stress and disappointment. I hate sounding negative, but if you budget is low there just isn't a lot of homes to pick from. I feel lucky that we were able to get an offer in on anything.

The house is only 864 sq feet, two bedrooms, and one bathroom. The listing said things like, "Great for a first time home buyer or a starter home!" This is our fourth house and most people just keep buyer BIGGER houses. Not us! We are so excited to be downsizing. Our last house was close to 2,300 sq ft!

One of my favorite features of this little house is the ability to put a wood burning stove in right away. I'm assuming they removed the old stove because of pollution, but new stoves are designed with that in mind. I love the houses vintage charm. It really shows in the kitchen....

I'm torn on keeping the original cabinets or installing a new kitchen. I plan to just live in the house a while before making that decision. I have so many ideas already! I'm surprised my Pinterest account hasn't blown up. haha

The backyard is a dream come true. It's large and ready for me to bring it to life. I'm so excited about this next adventure and project in our lives. In a few days we have the house inspection and I finally get to go back to Wyoming. :)
