Do you remember this 6 month salvation challenge back in October? Well I’m taking on the challenge again! To refresh your memory, the challenge asks that I find something in my closet I haven’t worn in 6 months and create 3 new looks using Target pieces I’ve purchased in the last 3 months. This time around I chose a piece that hasn’t seen daylight in a very long time and something more festive for the holidays.

I’ve had a love/hate relationship with this Forever 21 drop waist dress. I obviously love the print (stripes, hello!) and the length fits really well, but the drop waist is a little funky. After deciding I was going to challenge myself to style it 3 different ways, I realized the dress actually looks best when layered rather than standing on its own. The low drop waist hemline accentuates the bottom half, really allowing it to function as a skirt. I guess I don’t hate it as much as I thought I did… Sometimes all it takes is a little creativity and shopping in your own archives to realize you already have the perfect holiday dress in your closet.

This time of year is the perfect time to shop in your own closet, rediscover an old favorite, or rework a piece you haven’t worn in ages. Simply pair them with more festive pieces and who knows, you might end up with the perfect look for the holidays.
