Pool or Beach
I’d never thought I would manage to have a summer like vacation on April. But with the Spanish weather you never know so I had packed a bathing suit with me, just in case. The first days the rain wasn’t planning to stop but then on the 3rd day the clouds were gone and the swiming pool at W Barcelona was calling me. You can see the enthusiasm from the fact that I practically opened the pool and had it to myself for a few minutes. Then the Wet Bar opened and the pool was full by the time the cocktails were ready.
This was the day I spent just hanging at the hotel, or as I call it my private holiday island. Because the W Barcelona is located at the far end of the Passeig Maritim de Barceloneta, it is sorrounded by the sea and golden sand beaches, so you get the feeling of the isolation from the city life.
Beach time
I didn’t dare to take a bath in the Mediterranean just yet, so I don’t know of it counts as the first day at the beach for 2014. A long stroll with the feet deep in water should count though, given that even in August I much prefer a dip in the pool to the salty waters. W Barcelona has its private beach with the Salt bar and restaurant for a Californian-fusion lunch by the sea.
