Above you can see the products that I use for my base makeup at the moment.
In the beginning of this year I was facing a challenge of finding the perfect foundation for myself. Thanks to you I got a lot of tips and ended up finding just the perfect products for me! After trying out many and many different sorts I ended up choosing Lancôme's Teint Idole Ultra 24 h and Estee Lauder's Double Wear -foundations which I then mixed with each other to get the perfect result. I used these two a couple of months and was very very pleased with them!
But, a couple of months back I heard about this new products from Vichy, called Dermablend, that was soon coming to Finland. I heard rumors that it would be the ultimate product for covering imperfections on your skin, so of course me and my scarface got excited. Especially after watching
Luckily I got some of them sent to me before my vacation to Thailand, so I took them with me there and have been using them ever since!

Yllä näette tämänhetkisen meikkiarsenaalini pohjameikin tekoon.
Alkuvuodesta tuskailin uuden meikkivoiteen etsinnän kanssa, ja kiitos teidän lukuisten vinkkienne, löysinkin sopivat tuotteet itselleni. Käyttöön päätyivät Lancômen Teint Idole Ultra 24 h sekä Estee Lauderin Double Wear -meikkivoiteet, toisiinsa sekoitettuna. Muutaman kuukauden vedin näillä samoilla maaleilla menestyksekkäästi, ja olin todella tyytyväinen niillä saavuttamaani lopputulokseen.
Pari kuukautta takaperin kuulin kuitenkin huhua Vichyn Dermablend -tuotteista. Dermablend-tuotesarjaa oltiin lanseeraamassa Suomeen, ja pikkulinnut lauloivat tuotteen tehokkuudesta ja äärimmäisestä peittävyydestä. Tämä arpinaama kiinnostui tietysti samantien! Kurkattuani vielä Dermablendin häkellyttävän promovideon youtubesta, olin myyty. Näitä olisi pakko päästä testaamaan ja vähän äkkiä!!
Sainkin ilokseni blogin kautta kokeiluun joitakin sarjan tuotteita hieman ennen lähtöäni Thaimaahan. Putelit lähtivät reissuun mukaan - ja ovat olleet ahkerassa käytössä siitä asti.
In my daily use I have the Dermablend Corrective Foundation in shade 25 - Nude. Although I haven't ditched my favorite Lancôme foundation, Teint Idole Ultra 24 h, either. I blend these to to get the finish I want to accomplish; enough of coverage & matte surface. Both of these attributes are the most important ones for me when choosing a foundation since my skin needs quite a lot of coverage and it also gets greasy and oily kinda easily. The Lancôme foundation I have in shade 03 - Beige Diaphane. Bought it during my trip in Thailand since I needed a darker shade to match my tanned face.
Now someones surely thinking - why two different shades? Well, when I have two, a ligher and a darker shade, I can easily blend them with each other to get the right shade for my face just at that moment. For example, now that I'm tanned I blend more of the dark shade and less of the light one. But when the tan settles down soon I'm gonna add more of the lighter one. Get it?

Päivittäisessä käytössäni on ollut nyt reilun kuukauden ajan Dermablendin nestemäinen meikkivoide sävyssä 25 - Nude. Täysin en ole kuitenkaan Lancômen suosikkiani Teint Idole Ultra 24 h -meikkivoidettakaan viskannut mäkeen, vaan sekoitan näitä kahta keskenään täydellisen lopputuloksen; sopivan peittävyyden sekä mattaisuuden saavuttaakseni. Nuo ovat molemmat ominaisuuksia, joita oman ihotyyppini kannalta nimenomaan eniten arvostelen meikkivoiteessa. Meikkivoiteen tulee olla tarpeeksi peittävää, jotta saan ihollani olevan epäkohdat pitoon. Mutta samalla myös tarpeeksi mattaista, jotta helposti kiiltelylle altistuva ihoni pysyy mattaisena. Lancômen tuotteesta käytössäni on tummempi sävy 03 - Beige Diaphane, jonka ostin reissun päältä kun tummemmalle meikkivoiteelle alkoi olla tarvetta.
Mutta miksi kaksi eri sävyä? Lähinnä juuri siksi, jotta pystyisin muuntelemaan meikkivoiteen sävyä aina vuodenaikaan ja tilanteeseen sopivaksi. Nyt kun takana on esimerkiksi reilut kaksi viikkoa Thaimaassa, on ihoni sävy huomattavasti normaalia tummempi. Tällä hetkellä sekoitan siis tummempaa sävyä enemmän suhteessa vaaleaan. Mutta kunhan rusketus pikkuhiljaa laskee, sekoitan taas vähemmän tummaa ja enemmän vaaleaa sävyä mukaan. Kunnes rusketus iskee taas!
I apply the foundations with the help of my fingers and these two brushes up there. First I apply a light layer with my fingers - then concealer - then finishing up with the brushes. I use the smaller Make Up Store Brush for those parts of my face that needs a bit more coverage. Then I finish with the MAC brush, just lightly apply another light layer to kinda get it all together.

Meikkivoiteet sekoitan sekä omien sormieni että sutien avulla. Ensin ohut kerros sormituntumalla - sitten peitevoide - sitten viimeistely sudeilla. Make Up Storen tiheämmällä sudilla käsittelen ne kohdat, jotka kaipaavat ihollani eniten peittävyyttä. MAC:n isommalla sudilla taas levitän sen viimeisen ohuen ja viimeistelevän kerroksen meikkivoidetta kasvoilleni.
As a concealer I use the Dermablend Stick Correcteur Concealer. In two shades again! I have the darker 25 - Nude which I use when covering all the imperfections like scars on my cheeks, my reddish skin on thw wings of my nose and possible pimples around my chin. The lighter shade 15 - Opal is best when applied under my eyes and on the bridge of my nose.I apply these to my skin directly from the stick and then even it out with my fingers.

Peitevoiteena käytössäni ovat myös Dermablendin tuotteet. Ja kahdessa sävyssä, taas! Tummempaa 25 - Nude sävyä käytän ihon epäkohtiin, kuten arpiin poskissa, punoittavaan ihoon nenänpielissä ja mahdollisiin näppylöihin suun leuan ja suun alueella. Vaaleampi sävy 15 - Opal taas toimii silmienalusiholla ja nenänvarressa. Nämä levitän iholle suoraan puikosta ja tasoittelen sormilla.
I finish my base with a powder from Make Up Store. It was my friend who tipped me about this clear & mattifying Blothing Powder. She praised it so much that I just had to try - and I have to admit that I fell in love with it on the first try! The fact that the product has no shade is a big plus since you can use this all year along not having to worry if it matches your foundation or not. Also this is the perfect choice for my oily skin because this one really helps to keep it matte all day long. I usually add this 1-2 times a day - and that's not much at all for me!

Pohjameikin viimeistelee Make Up Storen väritön ja mattainen Blothing Powder, josta aikoinaan sain vinkkiä yhdeltä ystävältä. Hänen hehkutuksensa jälkeen en voinut muuta kuin testata - ja myönnän, että rakastuin tähän vähintään yhtä lujaa kuin hänkin. Tuotteen värittömyys on ehdoton plussa, ja mahdollistaa sen, että sama puuteri toimii vuodenajasta ja ihonsävyn tummuudesta riippumatta. Omalle helposti rasvoittuvalle ja kiiltelevälle iholleni tämä on myös kaikkien aikojen pelastus. Tämä tosiaan pitää ihon mattaisena monien tuntien verran, ja itse lisäilenkin tuotetta päivän aikana vain 1-2 kertaa. Ja voin kertoa, että tälle kiiltonaamalle tuo on oikeasti vähän :)
Not to forget the primer either! I've shown this one from Estee Lauder, Matte Perfecting Primer, here on the blog before also but I'm still using it. As said, a matte finish is one of the most important things from me when it comes to base makeup so I guess the name of the product already tells that this is just the perfect choice for me. I've been using this for a many months now and am very pleased with it. Makes my skin feel smooth so that it's easy to apply foundation over this one.
So yes, those are the products that I'm using at the moment! Gotta say that I'm super pleased with this set :) All are perfect for my skin type and works well in my use. I can warmly recommend these to all others with the same kind of skin type as I have. So if you are after great coverage and matte finish, try these :)
Also thought that it would be fun to show actual before-after pics instead of just showing pics of the products and telling how they work. So here you go! Unfortunately the lightning isn't the same, the before picture is taken when it was cloudy and the after when it was super bright and sunny.. But I think you still get the picture!

Eikä toki sovi unohtaa meikkivoiteen pohjustusta! Käytössäni on edelleen sama tuote, mitä olen esitellyt aiemminkin. Eli Estee Lauderin Matte Perfecting Primer. Kuten sanottu, mattainen lopputulos pohjameikissä on itselleni se kaiken a ja o, joten tuotteen nimi varmasti puhuukin jo puolestaan. Tähän olen ollut tyytyväinen jo monen kuukauden verran. Se luo tasaisen pinnan iholle, jolle on hyvä lähteä levittämään meikkivoidetta ja edesauttaa tosiaan omilla mattaisilla ominaisuuksillaan sitä, että meikkipohja pysyy mattana koko päivän ajan.
Näillä tuotteilla sitä tosiaan siis mennään tällä hetkellä ja voin sanoa olevani enemmän kuin tyytyväinen tähän tuotejoukkioon! Sopivat täydellisesti omalle ihotyypilleni ja uskallan myös omien kokemuksieni perusteella lähteä suosittelemaan näitä muille, jotka omaavat samantyyppisen ihon kuin minäkin. Eli jos iholta löytyy epäkohtia kuten finnejä/arpia/pigmenttiä etc. ja ihosi rasvoittuu ja kiiltelee helposti, voi näiden tuotteiden takana olla mahdollisesti myös vastaus juuri sinulle :)
Koska pelkät tuotekuvat ja -kertomukset eivät välttämättä anna aina tarvittavaa kokonaiskuvaa, otin tällä kertaa myös ennen-jälkeen otokset. Valitettavasti valaistus näissä ei ole ihan tismalleen sama, ekassa kuvassa pilvistä, toisessa taas aurinko porotta ikkunan läpi kirkkaalta taivaalta. Mutta luonnonvalossa molemmat kuitenkin!
