Hotel Week NYC – stay in the Big Apple for $100 a night

Big Apple beckoning but you’re on a budget? New York hotels are right up there with wallet-wounding Paris and London when it comes to high prices. A (probably handmade and dressed in Frette linen) bed for the night in well-heeled areas of upper Manhattan can demand upwards of $600 dollars a night. Even the hipster hangouts downtown, bedecked in their mid-century furniture and industrial lighting, will cost you the equivalent of a new iPad for every night you stay. If that doesn’t sound like your idea of a good time, Hotel Week NYC might save you a pretty penny.

Head to the city between the 3rd and 12th of January 2014 when Hotel Week NYC can make your plans for a cheeky weekend in Manhattan a whole lot more attainable. Bunk beds and shared bathrooms are not invited to this party. For 10 days only, some of the coolest crash pads and boutique hotels in the city will slash their prices to $100, $200 or $300 dollars a night. Sought-after names involved include Thompson LES, The Ace, Hotel Americano, POD 39 and The James.

Yes, New York in January can be a bit nippy, it might even snow, but it’s also way less hectic after the Christmas crowds have departed. This means restaurants are easier to get into, show tickets are generally cheaper and the museums are less crowded. Heck, you could even spend some of the money you saved on a lovely warm winter coat (in the post-Christmas sales, naturally).
