Design a Princess Theme Tablescape for Wedding Showers

I’m happy to announce that we received a ton of design requests for our second official request a tablescape post! Choosing a tablescape was no easy task, but I finally chose a tablescape to design. The request, submitted by Anna, was for a princess theme couples wedding shower using a blush, ivory, and touch of gold color palette. Let’s take a look at our decor grid:

One of the reasons I went with Anna’s request is because we just got in some diamond and pearl tiaras which I thought would make great decorative pieces for each place setting. Each tiara used is slightly different from one another. Here’s a close up of a tiara:

Nothing quite says “princess” like a tiara. A wedding shower is all about the bride and groom receiving gifts, so I thought it would be a nice idea to treat the tiaras as party favors. That way, everyone can go home with a gift! To match Anna’s color scheme, I went with an ivory tablecloth underneath a pink satin overlay which is very muted pink comparable to blush. For the touch of gold–the midas touch, if you will–I used some inexpensive gold charger plates purchased from Bed, Bath, and Beyond. By the way, I have some good news if you like chargers: they’re coming soon to LinenTablecloth!

I think pink and gold make a great color combination–do you? To prop each tiara up, I used ivory napkins for some lift. As I learned in our charcoal and red wedding tablescape, satin is incredibly easy to iron, so I went ahead and ironed a few pink satin chair sashes to match the overlay.

The centerpiece was a lot of fun to assemble. I’ve seen round mirrors used as the base as part of the centerpiece for plenty of tablescapes, especially for weddings, proms, and other banquet events. To tie in the princess theme, I scattered some red rose petals at the base for a romantic touch, along with some pink candles. I recently noticed that I have a tendency to pick very tall vases, but tall vases definitely affect visibility. A large vase can make it so guests are unable to see one another from across the table, so I ended up trying something a little different: I chose a teeny-tiny vase! Fit for a princess, here’s the tablescape in full:
