Early birthday present? Tired of waiting? Finally found what I was look for? All of the above my friends. All of the above provoked the most amazing purchase of my life thus far- a chanel le boy bag from the Dallas Pre-fall 2014 collection. Getting a new chanel bag is kind of like getting a tattoo. You can’t stop looking at it, you picture all the things it’ll look great paired with, and you can’t wait to grow old with it. Now ain’t that a love story?

I distinctly remember the first boy bag collection Chanel released, and it has been quite an amazing journey to spectate the evolution of the boy bag, and wholesomely, the revolution in fashion. Here’s a little history of the chanel boy bag, in the words of Karl Lagerfeld: “Chanel used men’s underwear to make dresses; she had this boyish attitude, in fact it is the very spirit of Chanel. She got it from Boy Capel, the great love of her life, which, incidentally, explains why the new bag is called the Boy Chanel.” I have no regrets in regards to purchasing iconic, yet modern pieces that I know will follow me throughout life. My mind even explodes at the thought of how classic a chanel bag is. The coveted 2.55 bag was created in 1955, making it a best-selling for 59 years? Pretty descent … pretty descent (note: sarcastic tone). Let me know: have you ever made a classic purchase that made you feel over the moon? Maybe it was more pricey, but heck, maybe you got it at the flee market! No judgement, I hold a foam finger in the game of fashion for team “mix-and-match”!
