sweater weather

Here in New York the cold, autumn--essentially "sweater weather"--hit us early this year. Back home in Jersey I typically wouldn't start pulling out my warm, cozy knits until the end of October or November, even.

I created a bunch of looks on Polyvore to coincide with the chilly, windy New York City weather. It's been absolutely gorgeous lately, so I hope the weather stays like this!

Wide-brimmed hats are a new obsession for me. The felt-like material makes it a perfect accessory for winter/fall not only to add a finishing touch to your look, but to keep you warm as well.

Plaid is very in this season. Designers now are trying to bring back a punk influence into this season's wardrobe. I've personally been a fan of plaid since I was in middle school; some people aren't as big into it. Luckily, many plaid wardrobe items are more toned down and subtle for the dark colors of fall.

And of course, on your days when you're feeling more "bummy" and want to dress your look down, I like to pull on a pair of high-waisted cotton jersey trousers. Pull on a comfy jumper or a crop top and a beanie and you're good to go to keep yourself warm & comfortable!
