Quick Curves

I’m happy to be a blog hop stop for Sew Kind of Wonderful today!

Jenny and Helen are the genius gals behind the Quick Curve Ruler and a fabulous line of patterns. I sat next to Jenny on the flight from Chicago to Seattle in May and I’m pretty sure I talked her ear off. :)

If you’ve read my blog for awhile you know I don’t work with curves that often (except the other kind of curves…the kind that come with eating ice cream every.single.day this summer!) So this was a bit out of my comfort zone, but I decided to try my hand at the Metro Hoops Pattern.

The pattern is fabulously written…and cutting the curves was really simple with the slotted ruler and markings.

I was worried once I started sewing the curves together than some of my edges didn’t match up perfectly…but the pattern leaves enough wiggle room for squaring up edges, that even a beginner could make a perfect block.

I started this yesterday so I only have one of my blocks sewn together…but I’m excited to see this one sewn up!
