TUESDAY TEN

Hii sweets! Today I’m starting something new on the blog; ‘Tuesday Ten’. In this post I will show you ten of my favorite things at the moment. For now I’ve picked my 10 favorite hotspots of Amsterdam. I love nice food and I to try out new hotspots. While trying these hotspots I already have some favorites. At some places they already know me because I’ve been there a lot haha!
I guess I’m really faithful when I’m very positive about a particular place. Most of these places are lunch or breakfast spots, or places
where they have the best snacks or drinks. I visit these spots almost every week with my friends, or with my family. Yes, I bring everyone along! Another great thing about these places is that it’s actually quite affordable. As you all know I’m still a student, so I have to think budget wise ;). I’m going to tell you my ten favorite food spots in Amsterdam and I will tell you my favorite dish.

1. De Wasserette
De Wasserette is a breakfast/lunch place in ‘De Pijp’. I’m having breakfast there a lot, where I always make the perfect breakfast pictures for Instagram. My absolute favorite breakfast dish is the granola with fresh fruits and the soy Latte. When I’m eating lunch there I’m always going for the chicken avocado sandwich. YUM!

2. Yoghurt Barn
The Yoghurt Barn is also a breakfast place, but I mostly go there for the perfect frozen yoghurt. It’s really fresh and it’s biologic. They have so many different toppings, which are all so good! I always take the frozen yoghurt with coconut flakes, almonds and pure chocolate. It’s delicious! Besides perfect ice creams I’m also going there for a high tea. The high tea is really extended and all the foodies are amazing! I have a huge weakness for the brownies! The Yoghurt Barn is located in ‘De Pijp’ too.

3. Homemade
Homemade is also one of my favorite lunchspots. This one is located in the center of Amsterdam nearby the Kalvertoren. It’s the perfect place to eat a healthy, fresh, but still affordable lunch between the shoppings. I always take the sandwich with hummus because it’s just so damn good! I also tried the tuna sandwich, which is pretty great too.

4. Bar Italia
I only went to Bar Italia to have lunch, so I can’t tell you anything about the other food, but the lunch is great! It’s not that crowded over there, so I often go there when I have a meeting. It’s located at Rokin, so it’s also nearby the center. My favorite lunch dish is the chicken avocado sandwich. Yes, I love avocados!!

5. De Drie Graefjes
This place is serving the best cakes ever!! I’m in love with the red velvet cupcakes, which my best friend got for me for my birthday. Oh, it’s SO good! I’ve been at De Drie Graefjes a lot, and I love the food there. I once had a tuna sandwich and a blueberry muffin. But I have to stick with the red velvet cake… You can also have a high tea there, so this is definitely something I want to do someday!

It’s also super close with the center, so when you need some sugar between your shoppings, you should get a cake there!

6. STOUT!
Stout! is on the other side of the center, because it’s on the Haarlemmerstraat. I’ve been there several times and I really like the food there. My guilty pleasure must be the brownie, but the scones are pretty amazing too. I also really like the people who work there. They are super nice and friendly!

7. IJscuypje
I guess this is my guilty pleasure number one, because you can find me here almost every day… IJscuypje. I’m super addicted to ice cream and I think they have the best ice cream of Amsterdam. I always take the double straciatella because it’s just my favorite flavor. I’ve tried other flavors too and I have to say they are all really good. But I stick with straciatella.

8. Vapiano
I think I eat more at Vapiano then I eat home because the food is SO good and it’s SO cheap! Really, for me it’s often cheaper to eat dinner there, than to cook some dinner for myself. So yes, I think they know me by now.. I have 2 favorite dishes there, one is pizza and one is pasta. My favorite pizza is the pizza bruchetta and my favorite pasta is the penne pesto rosso with extra tomatoes. The great thing about Vapiano is that you can bring your leftovers home! So you don’t have to throw away the food and sometimes you can eat 2 days from this one meal. To be honest it doesn’t happen a lot with me because the food is soo good I almost eat it all haha.

9. Wagamama
Another place where they already know me; Wagamama. I eat here a lot and it’s also pretty cheap. Students have a special discount, which makes it even more tempting to eat there. I’m a huge fan of rice and noodles, so this really is my place.

I always take the rice chicken curry. I don’t know the name, just the number haha. I always take the 79, or when I’m feeling like eating noodles I eat the Yasai Yaki Soba. It’s vegetarian, and super nice! Oh, and if you go there, you should try the homemade limonade! I love it!

10. Starbucks
I know it’s tacky but I’m just a huge fan of Starbucks. When it’s cold outside I can get my hot drink over there while waiting for the train, and when it’s hot outside I can get my frappuccino. So yes, I love this place. Another major plus side of this place is that they have wifi. They always have wifi and outlets. It’s the perfect place to work, or to have a meeting. My favorite hot drink is the Tall Decaf Soy Cappuccino, and my favorite cold drink is the Tall Skinny Coffee Frappuccino.
