Rachel Chandler and Tom Guinness’s Dreamy England Wedding

During my wedding research I came across photographer Rachel Chandler and stylist Tom Guinness’s Gloucestershire, England wedding and my gosh, it is stunning! From her custom Haider Ackermann dress to Mark Ronson spinning and THAT cake (which is sitting on a glass box full of flowers mind you) they didn’t miss a single detail which VOGUE well documented in an interview with Chandler.

“I knew I wanted Haider Ackermann to make my dress,” Chandler says. The designer chose clean silk crepe, which fell elegantly from a high collar. Chandler accessorized simply, with pointy green Manolo Blahniks and a fresh haircut. (When, an hour before the party, Ackermann asked her to chop off four inches to complement his statement collar, the easygoing bride obliged.) The couple split the other planning duties: Tom took on the music, hiring Mark Ronson to spin tracks alongside the Queens of Noize, the same DJ duo Kate Moss employed for her 2011 wedding, while Rachel tackled the food (local lamb from Tom’s sister’s farm down the lane) and flowers. Inside, past the house’s Gothic stonework facade, the decor was sleek white 1960s Modern—a contrast conceptualized by sculptor Lynn Chadwick. The couple’s unusual ceremony was conducted by a shaman who, just before it started, instructed the couple to go and find a stick, which she then presented to the bride and groom during the wedding. “We have to keep it above our bed,” Chandler says, “and every time something important happens in our life, we tie a piece of string to it.” Celebrating a year of marriage in the English countryside? Put a string on it.”
