Everything Keeps Changing Yet Staying The Same #180/365

Have you ever really thought about how things around you seem to change, but below the surface they really haven’t changed at all?

Today my husband, son and I went out to dinner. When we got back to our little town for some reason my husband decided to take a tour of the town. He went to the school that my son graduated from a little over a year ago and we saw that there were changes to the buildings and the grounds. I don’t know what made him do this but he started riding around town and looking at the little changes that have taken place over the last year that my son has been away.

We were talking about all the changes and I told him I was going to use this for a first. I believe it is the first time that I have actually toured our little town. I drive through the town sometimes, but not with the eyes of someone who is looking for all the nuances of the town.

As we were driving we were surprised that they were so many little changes over the year. I laughed and said, “so many changes, yet everything stays the same!” My son agreed that was so true in this little town. My husband said, “Don’t you think it is really like that everywhere?” I think maybe he is right. Things change quickly, but people don’t.
