Sweet and Savory Crepes #197

My son and I made a trip back to Crepe Guys today. The last time we went there was a sign on the door saying they had to close for technical difficulties. So, today I had my first real crepe in an American restaurant.

I purchased a Groupon before we went to Crepe Guys today. I purchased 3 – $8.00 Groupons for $12.00. That makes them 1/2 price.

The restaurant only allows you to use one Groupon per visit. That means I have to go back at least 2 more times.

We had savory crepes for lunch. My son had the Bavarian crepe. It has Ham, Swiss and American cheeses, coleslaw salad and honey mustard sauces. It was delicious!!!

I had the Santa Fe Style Shrimp crepe. It has Shrimp with Santa Fe sauce, Colby Jack cheese, lettuce guacamole and fresh tomato. Another winner!!

We split our crepes in half and shared them. I forgot to get a picture before we started eating.

I have been wanting a Nutella/Banana Crepe since I was in Paris the last time in 2012. I brought some crepes home from France to make them with. The packaged crepes aren’t quite as good as fresh made ones though. I am definitely not going to make fresh ones. I had a hard time getting away from the packaged ones. Once I get started on Nutella I can’t stop. I am not buying any to bring home and when I use the coupons I will not be buying anymore dessert crepes. Since I haven’t been eating sugar it almost made me sick. It was much too sweet for me this time. I did get over the craving though!!

NUTELLA BANANA CREPE RECIPE

1 cup flour

2 eggs

1/2 cup milk

1/2 cup water

1/4 tsp salt

2 T. Butter, melted

Whisk together flour and eggs. Add milk and water. Add salt and butter. Beat well.

Heat a lightly oiled griddle over medium heat. Pour about 1/4 c batter onto the griddle. Tilt the pan so it coats the surface evenly. Cook each side about 2 minutes.

Filling:

Sliced bananas, Nutella, Marshmallow crème, chocolate syrup, powdered sugar, and whipped cream.

After cooking both sides of the crepe. Swirl some Nutella onto the crepe. Swirl some marshmallow crème on next. Add some sliced bananas. Fold up the crepe and swirl chocolate syrup on top. Sprinkle powdered sugar on it. Serve with whipped cream.

If you get addicted to these please do not blame me!!! You can always use the crepe recipe to make savory crepes.
