Setting Up An Air Printer #220

When my husband bought his new computer a few months ago he bought an air printer. I thought that would be great so I could print from my iPhone and my iPad too. This printer has an auto feed and will scan and print double-sided. I was so excited about it that it was still in the box until today.

We already had a working printer that was set up. I couldn’t print from my iPhone or iPad, but who really needs to do that? Well, my old laptop that was still set up to my old printer kind of “bit the dust” yesterday. My husband needed some things scanned. I tried to do it on the old laptop, but it just totally refused. So, I couldn’t load the old printer software to my new laptop because it was not Windows 8 compatible. I guess it was time to break open the box for the new printer.

I had to go online and get the software installation program since my Windows 8.1 was not included with the printer CD. The box said it was compatible but I needed to go to the website and get the latest update? I absolutely love the printer! I put four pages on the feeder and just walked away. The computer knew to put them into one file. I could tell them to put each in a separate file if I wanted to. If I had wanted double-sided, I would have been able to do that too! I printed from my iPhone and it was so great. There have been times when I have received an email and would love to just print it out right away and I couldn’t. Now I can!

So now I still have to add the software to my husband’s computer. What’s the hurry? It works on mine. Who knows maybe something new will come out before I get around to that computer. I love technology, but I don’t love waiting for things to load and setting them up.

I had another first today, it was the first time I have seen my friend, Kelly, since she moved away. It was fun catching up with her and I hope to see her again in the next couple of weeks when I take my son back to college. She moved to his college town!

Watching Rio With The Grandsons #221

My grandsons came over to spend the night. We had a great evening and spent time celebrating the little guys 1/2 birthday. He turned 6 1/2 and saw every reason to celebrate. He convinced me that he needed a small cake and a small present. I guess that’s what grandma’s are supposed to do. Spoil! Spoil! Spoil! It’s just so much fun!

We walked the dog, played a little baseball, looked for fairies in the fairy garden, and spent time in the hot tub. When it got close to bedtime the boys asked if we could rent a movie. I pulled up the movie choices on my screen and they wanted to watch Rio 2. I rented the video and then realized I had gotten Rio instead of Rio 2. They thought that would be fine since Grandpa and I hadn’t seen Rio yet. They decided we should watch it and the next time we could all watch Rio 2 together.
