LIFE | OUR BROOKLYN BRIDGE ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS

On the day Quentin and I set out to have our engagement photos taken, everything that could have gone wrong did just that. It was such a terrible day. We had traffic getting to Brooklyn and I lost my dress (it has since been found, packed away with my winter clothes!), so I had to rush to Atlantic Terminal to buy another one. As a result, we ended up being about two hours late. Ugh, what a pain! But things mellowed out once we got to the bridge, and the shoot was a lot of fun.

I never imagined we’d be taking our engagement photos on the Brooklyn Bridge. We’d talked about doing Central Park for a while, and then we settled on the High Line (one of our favorite places in the city). But we were running so late for the shoot we decided to skip the High Line and do Brooklyn Bridge instead, and the results are just fantastic. Taking photos on the bridge is really difficult because people are still walking up and down and it’s very hard not to get them in your shot! But Stephen (our photographer…check him out!) was so good at getting us into position; you don’t even notice the other people in our photos!

This is just a handful of the pictures we took (the rest are on our wedding website). We took SO MANY PHOTOS that day (, and they all came out really great thanks to Stephen (and his lovely assistant Ty! ). Everything worked out really well in spite of the day’s inconveniences. God was definitely smiling on us. Everything about planning this wedding has been shaped by God’s divine intervention. I could tell you all so many stories about how things have just consistently worked out for us throughout this wedding planning process. We have a lot of family and friends praying that things go smoothly, and we can definitely tell that God is answering those prayers! Planning a wedding (in another state), working a full-time job, and trying to find and move into a new apartment (BEFORE the wedding!) all at the same time is exhausting and overwhelming and really difficult. But God has been there for us every single step of the way, and I couldn’t be more blessed and thankful.

I’m so confident that this wedding is going to be an amazing experience for me and Quentin. We still have A LOT to do between now and then, so keep praying for us…God is definitely listening!
