Day Trip to Sonoma

Now that my momma lives in Sonoma, it gives me a great excuse to head into the wine country on the weekend. On Sunday, I headed up early so I could get the most out of the day.

Even though Sonoma is just about 1 1/2 hours from my house, it feels like a lifetime away. For me, I live in the suburbs. So Sonoma to me…is COUNTRY.

I swear all the shops in Sonoma are chocolate stores, jewelry stores and wine tastings.

I could eat all the asparagus, and still ask for more.

Black Bear Diner. I am a sucker for carved bears.

Just your run of the mill, $4000 dog sculpture.

Could I have another wedding here?

Flower art exhibit.

My brother and I walked on the planks to get a better look, then scared we were going to fall in.

We went into the wishing garden to see all the wishes that were written on the streamers. Mostly wishes for luck and good health. I wish the same for my husband.

I can’t see a metal rooster without thinking about this story.

If I could, I would buy this giant hot dog for my husband.

Axel the Bulldog. He can be found at Artefact Salvage playing around with his bucket. He never.lets.go. You can see a cute video of him

here.

Of course we went to a winery on Sunday, but to taste some olive oils. Trust me on this — jalapeno olive oil — delish!

If you are ever in Sonoma, let me know what are some of your favorites places to visit!
