How to Make a Media Kit

I have been meaning to make a media kit for years. I finally put my lazy butt on house arrest until I finished one. Today I am going to show you how to make a media kit and how to make it stand out!

The best way to set yourself up for success when reaching out to a brand is to have your media kit ready. Prove you are worth a company’s time by selling yourself in a 1-2 page summary.

Your media kit should have:

Logo

Headshot

Purpose of your blog

Short bio about yourself

Website traffic numbers

Social Media following

List of brands you have worked with

Services provided

Contact information

Think of your media kit as your resume: you want to sell yourself stand out from the crowd.

Don’t skimp on the details. It’s going to take some time to think about your blog’s purpose and the message you want to convey to the reader.

Finally, you’ll want your media kit to look professional. Sometimes, you don’t have the time nor the energy to make a kit on your own. The one I made for Pink on the Cheek was done with Hip Media Templates. Get this – no Photoshop skills needed. It was all done on Microsoft Word!

It can’t get easier than that. Check out the shop here and pick out your favorite design…all for less than $25.

Now set a calendar date to make your fancy media kit. Your blog is worth it!
