October is here!

I’m back! I’m back! And I don’t care who knows it! I took an unplanned break and it was good for my head and my heart. My heart was busy being emptied, then filled, then joyful, then sad and my brain (and self, of course) was busy being downright…busy. But it was a good break, overall. We spent this weekend in Orlando with my parents-in-law and it was so wonderful. It was our first time spending time with them since my FIL had open-heart surgery, so we cherished it and had a really, really great time. He is doing phenomenally well and I am so grateful for that. Squeezing family a little tighter these days!

With this new month, I am feeling refreshed and refocused and ready to get back into a routine. I also wanted to let you all know that I’ve decided I’m going to participate in a little blog challenge this month. My sweet friend Gracie came up with this October blog challenge and I loved the topics, so I thought I would join in this month. It’s going to be a challenge, but…it’s called a challenge, so I guess I was warned.

Today’s topic: My goals for October.

My main goal is to get back into my routine. I’ve had it shaken up a few times, but I love my little routine which usually includes getting a blog post up each weekday. With this challenge, you will see a post from me every day. Hopefully. That’s my main goal, anyway. Another goal is to soak up Fall in all of its beautiful glory. This weekend is supposed to be cooler and clear out, so I’m hoping to get some pumpkins on my stairway, more apples in my basket and apple cider donuts in my…belly. Where they rightfully belong.

Work-wise, I’m hoping that we are able to plan our first work trip to Italy. We need to head over there to meet with wineries and get some orders in for our first shipment for the initial launch. We also haven’t been back since we spent the summer there in 2008 and to say we miss it would be an understatement. I can’t wait for the best pasta and pizza in the world. For buffalo mozzarella, panini, GELATO. Okay, okay, I miss more than just the food, I swear. I’m so excited and just want to have that baby on my calendar. There’s a lot to look forward to this fall!
