5 reasons to run seawheeze 2015 (and what’s with those 2014 medals, anyway?)

The 2014 SeaWheeze medal symbolizes more than just crossing the finish line. It represents the determination, the passion, and the blood, sweat and toenails that went into prepping for a half marathon.

But, um, what is it?

“Trying to encapsulate the race’s surrealism theme succinctly was definitely a conceptual hurdle,” admits Karston, one of our designers who created this year’s medal. “On top of that, it had to pass the ‘Am I cool with this medal?’ test since I also ran SeaWheeze this year.”

After many renditions—and several tweaks to the three final paint colours used—the result was a memorable and utterly unique mind-bender of a momento that hung weightily off an optical illusion-inspired black-and-white strap.

Of course, if you didn’t run you probably haven’t had the pleasure of feeling one dangling from your neck. But it’s never too late to start eyeing one up for next year.

Registration for SeaWheeze 2015 opens tomorrow at 10am PST!

5 reasons to run SeaWheeze 2015

ο The details (signs like “package pick up this way—who doesn’t love a nice package” keep you smiling)
ο The medals (check out the design on the 2015 SeaWheeze website…any bets on what the medal will look like next year?)
ο The exclusive gear (available only at our annual pop-up store, and perfect for your race, your practice and your after-party)

ο The pride and the party (because you can cross the finish line, and after you do you will have due cause to celebrate)
