Our Fall Home Tour | Fall Moments

I had great intentions of decorating our home for fall over the weekend from top to bottom. I love everything about fall, including the color palette, cool crisp nights, beautiful breezes & leaves sweeping down the streets. So naturally, I was anxious to incorporate it into our home. But rather than spending the weekend indoors decorating, I opted to embrace all that I love about fall & went out & experienced it instead. After a whirlwind trip to New York for the BHG Stylemaker workshop, I just needed to snuggle my girls, relax & enjoy them. We went to the Forest Park Balloon Race, our neighbor’s Rib Off & a Cards game. That left our already disorganized home a little disheveled & me a bit behind. The good news is that yesterday was just the first day of fall, so I have plenty of opportunity to perfect & add fall decor to our home. This fall home tour is a series of moments in our home that you can quickly & easily duplicate. I’m honored to participate in the White Buffalo Styling Co Stylin Home Tours! I’d like to welcome those from the Thistlewood Farms fall home tour.

I mixed up our front porch a little bit. I have always loved the softer side of fall, so I incorporated some of my favorite, yet untraditional, fall colors. The blue/green jarrahdales have long been favorites of mine. I added our name with a gold paint pen. In addition to our concrete front porch planter that is a staple there, I added a hanging basket. The colors of peaches & pinks paired perfectly. I just removed the top of the basket. For the planter, I added ornamental grass that resembles wheat.

One of my favorite was to decorate for fall is the simple addition of pumpkins & gourds. One little butternut squash {in an untraditional shape} transitions the table for fall.

I alternate my throws & pillow covers with the seasons as well. These give it a great winter texture – making the space feel cozy for fall & winter.

Some things never change – like adding a fairytale pumpkin to this brass table for the last 3 years. It’s the perfect pop of color.

I added a new candle, again in a pink – peach hue, to a vibrant coffee table book on our coffee table. It’s just a quick switch, but gives it a fresh look in less than a minute.

Rustic just seems so fall to me, so I’m including a glimpse into our current kitchen. I found this antique table & had intended it to be my kitchen desk, until the great table situation of 2014 & my little olive tree that makes me so happy!

In our dining room, I always choose a centerpiece that lasts for a length of time. This season is no exception! I added a vase filled with eucalyptus to an apple basket. 2 minutes, $2.99. Bonus that the rest of the stems contributed to our kitchen table!

This edible centerpiece lasts as long as your fruit does! A full step-by-step tutorial coming tomorrow!

I updated the pillow cases in the family room, with my velvet pillow covers recycled from years past & new pretty floral pillow cases that I just couldn’t resist.

I filled found brass bowl, noted to be from the civil war, with apples. It feels so moody!

I haven’t found/unpacked my wheat sheaf centerpiece yet, but I did manage to find this wheat bouquet from our first home in 2005 – showing that there is hope!
