Going to the Chapel by USA Today Bestselling Author Rita Herron (Review)

If there’s a naughty list, Izzy Sassafras is on it—but she’s ready to make a new start this Christmas. Especially after leaving her lying, cheating, no-good husband and fleeing to her old hometown of Matrimony, Georgia. Izzy’s made herself a promise: no more men. All she wants to do is get her wedding business up and running—and mend fences with her estranged sisters. But Izzy knows she’s in trouble when her very first client, a smooth-talking Texan, makes her light up like a Christmas tree.

Desperate for business, private investigator Levi Fox reluctantly takes a case involving a runaway wife in a town called Matrimony. When he meets sweet, sexy Izzy, he decides she can’t possibly be as innocent as she seems. At first, posing as her client is the perfect cover; but he soon imagines himself as a groom—with Izzy as his Christmas bride! Will this case end with a trip to the chapel…or the jailhouse?

USA Today Bestselling and award-winning author Rita Herron fell in love with books at the ripe age of eight when she read her first Trixie Belden mystery. Although she wanted to be a writer then and actually scrawled her first novel at age twelve, she didn’t think real people grew up to be writers, so she became a kindergarten teacher instead. Ten years ago, she traded her classroom storytelling and puppets for a computer and now writes so she doesn’t have to get a real job.

Having sold over sixty books to date, she enjoys spinning spine-tingling romantic suspense tales filled with murder, mayhem, and spicy romance as well as sexy romantic comedies. Rita Herron currently writes romantic suspense for Harlequin Intrigue and she’s writing dark, gritty romantic suspense thrillers for Amazon Montlake.

My Thoughts:

When I was asked to review this book, it was described as “absolutely hilarious and yet heartfelt” and that description is right on target. It is a sweet and charming and absolutely funny book that all begins with a beautiful cover

The story is set in a beautiful little mountain town that needs a new beginning and the three Sassafras sisters, at least Izzy, is determine to make her aunt proud by opening up an all-inclusive bridal store. Who knew their first client was an undercover detective threatening to destroy their attempt at a new start?

Going to the Chapel will leave you laughing and full of love in your heart. Definitely a great pick for the holiday season. This book deserves all of five stars.
