What was the first blog you ever come across?
The very first blog I ever read was Style Bubble by Susanna Lau, the Pattie Smith of blogging. I found her fashion packed blog super inspiring and probably spent a good 2 hours browsing through her various posts. (I get a little obsessive if I like something / someones and tend to “google” everything about them.) That experience combined with my love for Carrie from SATC really opened the door to the blogosphere for me. So, thank you, Susie Bubble for being such as blogger rockstar.

Favourite blogs?
This is a tough one. I subscribe to around 107 blogs and I do actually try to read every post that comes up. They range from interior design (surprise, surprise) to lifestyle, photography and really quite personal blogs. I tend to always find something I haven’t seen before which is one of the things I love about blogging. A few of my personal favourites are…

A Beautiful Mess – a legendary DIY and creatives blog from Springfield, Missouri. I can honestly say that these girls have changed my “blog life”. They’re ultra creative, so passionate about creating personal things and always have a new idea up their sleeves. I also always look forward to posts from My Scandinavian Home. I love looking at the different homes from Scandinavia and beyond & take a lot of inspiration for my own flat from here. There is also the lovely Rosie from Cider With Rosie. Her lifestyle blog is wonderful and made for those who seek inspiration whilst enjoying a nice cup of tea. And lastly there are Alex and Nastya from Near The Lighthouse. Although they may not post every week, their blog is a pool of inspiring photography. They’re such a talented couple and I look forward to every single post.

Best blogging friend?
Okay, so this is a bit awkward one but I don’t really have a blogging friend. Although friends of mine are a lot more acquainted with blogs now than they might have been a few years ago. In fact, when I started blogging they were saying “what do you write? a blog? is that like a website?”. Yeah, well, I can’t blame them. This was back in the days when I blogged on MySpace. (Feeling old now.)

Name a blog that enables your purchases.
That’d be any of the blogs I named before. When it comes to beauty and fashion I’d probably have to go with Bleubird, Essie Button and Sailboat.

Five blogs everyone should be reading?
I could easily list more than five here, plus I’ve already mentioned some of my favourites but here you go with another five really noteworthy blogs.

Door Sixteen - Anna’s Brooklyn apartment is a dream and I just love her sense of style.

Poppytalk - is full of inspiration whether you’re into decorating, DIY, photography or food.
Sincerely Lara - I adore Lara’s photography and writing skills. Her blog is very personal & thoughtful.
The Merrythought - these girls know how to make tasty, beautiful looking food!
Sincerely Kinsey - Kinsey’s an incredibly talented photographer, honest, touching and reading her blog just feels like I’m in a time machine taking me back to the Bohemian 60s.

What is your favourite way to read blogs?
Before Google Reader got completely shut down, I used to divide my reads up between that one and Bloglovin. Now, I’m solely using bloglovin. It’s a great platform to discover new blogs and share some love by liking other posts.

Bloggers that inspire you?
Any of the above mentioned and the rest of my 95 subscribed blogs.

Favourite blog design/look?
I think a blog should reflect the personality of its author. Sometimes I’ll be in the mood for more image heavy blogs, sometimes for more copy. Personally, I’m always trying out a different tweak here and there which is why my blog design has changed a lot over the last few years. But with that I’ve learned new skills and shown my personal development. It’s been a really fun journey.

What is your favourite thing about blogging?

To me the blogosphere offers inspiration and the feeling that there is an unlimited source of creativity out there from all over the world. It’s a community of similar minded people who try and restore confidence in themselves and others. Kind of a like a chosen “online family”. It’s a positive place where I learn something new every day.

Name a blogger you would most like to see write a book in the future?

A design book by Elise from Pennyweight, one of greatest and first Pinterest gurus as I like to call her would be great. Her finds are some of the best on the platform. She’s one of the most skilled content curators I’ve ever come across.
