Can I let you in on a little secret? It's extremely hard to perform heartfelt songs when you're emotional! I sang Longer at my brother's wedding many moons ago, made eye contact with my sentimental grandfather in the front row, and lost it. Couldn't even finish the last line of the song (so embarrassing). Ever since, I worry my emotions will get the better of me when I perform at weddings.
Thankfully at Alissa's wedding, the bright stage lights blinded me to anyone else's tears. It was if I was alone in my room, singing these beautiful lyrics for two dear friends who have been in love for 14 years, as they danced together for the first time as husband and wife. Such a honor.
