about november

despite the darkness, the wet ground and the rainy days, november is a beutiful month. in scandinavia, november is always considered the "worst month" just because of the storms, heaps and heaps of rainfall and darkness. the snow won't arrive til' december and the darkness are throwing people into depression. although this month, november, has become one of my favorites. taking long hikes in the forest who's wet and the colors of the logs and moss are so intense just because of the moist. the photographs turn out beautiful and the the trees are almost as black as velvet.
i think it's extremely important for people to live through out every season. many people don't consider november beautiful, just nasty, and that's why the month is so tricky for them to live through.
candles and cosy lights, heaps of tea, a blanket, big woolen cardigans and a good book like late in november by tove jansson always works. her books always give me a certain inner peace and especially that book, late in november, describes the feelings this month gives so well.
