Rock ‘N Learn Science Collection

Being a homeschooling mom with three special needs children, I am always looking for resources that are encouraging and help our children learn! They have difficulty focusing and LOVE to move, so learning that encourages them to get up and dance offers a great experience!

Rock ‘N Learn offers a variety of fun, educational DVDs for kids of all ages and grade levels. Rock ‘N Learn offers individual DVDs as well as great DVD collections both by Grade levels and subjects. For our review we had the chance to review the Science Collection.

The Rock ‘N Learn Science Collection includes 4 DVDs – Life Science DVD, Physical Science DVD, Human Body DVD, and Earth Science DVD. It is ideal for Grades 2-8. Our oldest two children are both learning at the 2nd Grade Level, and they have really been enjoying the DVDs. Although these particular DVDs are ideal for our older children I was surprised that our preschooler really enjoyed them as well!

The Rock ‘N Learn DVDs go beyond just watching the DVDs, though. There are practice tests and discussion opportunities. I find our children definitely enjoy the learning process, but are definitely open to discussing what they have learned as well.

What I love most, though, is that they enjoy the learning process so much. Because of their sensory needs, they have a hard time “sitting still.” They are very active and are hands-on learners. Learning while being active is the best way for them to learn. With these Rock ‘N Learn DVDs they can get up and dance and are still taking in everything they are learning.

Within the DVDs there are times where they are encouraged to answer questions, which is great because they are having fun and are connected with the characters, so these little breaks give them a chance to stop and acknowledge what they’ve been learning. We have used a variety of Science curricula, and I was so excited at how much they have been learning – and how much they enjoy it!
