Craftsy take 2

I've seen this quote floating around Pinterest, as I'm sure you have, and every time I see it, it puts a big smile on my face. I couldn't agree more.

When I started Thimble Blossoms six years ago, I don't think I could have known just how much I would love it. I feel lucky every day, even the days I am completely beyond exhausted and overwhelmed. (Since Quilt Market is this weekend, I've had plenty of those lately!) Because when it comes down to it, I just really love to sew. I'm especially happy when I get to teach others to sew, and when I get to sew with friends. You know what I love most about teaching with Craftsy? I get to do both!

So guess what? Remember a few months back I went to Denver to film a second Craftsy class? As of today, it's live. Finally!

If you aren't familiar with Craftsy, it is a website filled to the brim with a ton of amazing classes ranging from quilting to crochet, photography to perfect pie crusts. (And yes, I am enrolled in each of these!) You can sign up for a class and take it 1 time or 100 times, it never expires. And all the patterns are included for each lesson, which makes it a really great deal! Plus they do a really great job putting everything together. Remember this?

This is my second class with Craftsy, you can read all my ramblings about my first class, Precut Piecing Made Simple here in this post.
This class is a great follow-up to the first class, but you don't necessarily have to take the first class to take the second (though it couldn't hurt!)

I'll run through the basics again while we make a sweet little pincushion (above) and then the Piece of Cake 2 quilt from a Layer Cake. I hear Craftsy will even have this quilt available as a kit out of our Scrumptious line!

After the Piece of Cake 2 quilt, we'll make the Spools quilt (one of my all time favorite quilts I've made) and then another lesson on my favorite applique method.

Next up? My most favorite project in the class, my scrappy dresden quilt, Field Day.

It alternates between cheery dresdens and strip pieced 16 patches. Like my hashtag quilt, this one is a Craftsy exclusive, and was made from a whole bunch of precut leftovers I had in my scrap bin. Jelly Rolls, Layer Cakes, and Charm squares, all different lines.

This quilt is hanging in my sewing room. Finally! It makes me so happy.

Let's see, what else... We also make my Juggle quilt in two different sizes from Moda's new Honeycomb precuts (there's also a template so you can cut your own hexagons if you want to!) It's so fun to see it come together and not nearly as tricky as it looks, I promise.

After the quilt projects, there is a lesson on basting and machine quilting with my 9 favorite free motion quilting techniques. Oh, and a lesson on machine binding too! I've had so many requests for that lately. I'll show you how I like to do it.

Hmm... what else? Chain piecing, choosing fabrics, monograms, and lots of other stuff. I really tried to pack every single thing I could think of into this class! Seriously. :-) I hope it is helpful, and I really hope you enjoy it!

They gave me a link for 25% off the class to share with all of you, so if you want to join me, click here to get the discount.

As for me, I better get packing! Quilt Market is right around the corner! I'll be back with a whole lot more on that and way (WAY) too many photos soon.
