Halloween & Other Stories

Happy Halloween people! My favourite celebration after Christmas (and even before my own birthday), I appreciate Halloween is now more of an excuse to get pissed, but it's still so much fun. Our Halloween tradition consists of our friend group all going back to Luton to our old indie haunt The Edge, getting dressed and all doing our make-up at my parents house, watching Strictly and then yes, all going out and getting pissed. The night had an Americana/Mexicana theme so we (along with the rest of the world I think) all went for sugar skull make-up and whilst most of our group dressed as an awesome mariachi band, I went as Santa Muerte, or Saint Death.

The night before, a little group of us went to Earls Court to see Arctic Monkeys. If you follow me on Twitter/Instagram you *might* have noticed I'm a little bit of an AM stalker/fangirl so seeing them was bloody awesome.
Even the horrendous venue (Earls Court is a bit like an indoor carpark, completely terrible and reminded me why I hate big venues), the what-I-really-hope-was-beer being chucked all over the place and the huge punch-up that occurred during the last song couldn't dampen what was an amazing gig and the fact that I got to see Alex Turner with my very own eyeballs!
The lovely team behind Lifetime TV invited me to the UK channel launch last week at Shaker & Company for a cocktail masterclass and a rundown of the programmes they'll be showing after they launch on the 4th November. I love me a good TV show, so I got a bit excited at all the clips we saw, especially when I saw a tiny snippet of Emile Hirsch and Holliday Grainger in the Bonnie & Clyde mini-series which looks top-class and another called Witches of East End which has guilty pleasure written ALL over it.
Also: The Conversation with Amanda de Cadenet kicks off the launch on Monday 4th at 8pm and looks very intriguing indeed. She basically sits on a couch and has a nice chit-chat with some 'slebs- Caitlin Moran and Rosie Huntington-Whitely are on the first couple of episodes. If you fancy a gander, tune into Sky 156 or Virgin 242 from next Monday.
