Dell Venue Tab – Some irritating moments but still worth the buck

Some examples of days when Dell Venue tab gave me a hard time are

  • when i was on a call with retailer and explaining him a product, the tab suddenly got stuck. I was so much helpless, that I had to wait for the battery to drain out before I could re-use the tab,
  • As I was browsing through an article, suddenly the touch got unresponsive for few minutes and navigation was not possible.

Such instances were new to me with this tab, but I never encountered them with the apple tab which I have been using. From the time I have been using this tab, I have experience problems above and related ones close 4 – 5 times. It is a lot compared to almost zero such issues with IPAD. But given the cost differentiation that Dell has done, I think this product is still worth a buy and the company can work on further bettering/extensive testing its touch screen response.

Dell Venue Pro 8 comes up with right features and right designs which offers the right price too. It sharp look makes it to feel good in one’s hand.It has also very good battery life. This tab is little thicker than Ipad. The back of the tab has a ring patterns that radiate almost outward from the center part. It has its own good and bad quality.

Going with good quality this tab offers a good stylus support and runs full windows 8.The 5MP rear-facing camera is good if there is enough light .The built in speakers are good enough than expected.

The bad one is its 32 GB storage does not hold much data and keyboard accessory is not available. The key navigation for windows 8 has been moved from its normal place on the screen bezel to a tiny button on the right top edge.

Just moving onto the description of Dell Venue Pro 8 as

The dell venue pro 8 has three slots , they are headphone slot, microUSB 2.0 port and two microSD card plot slot. ThemicroSD slots are coupled together in the rubber strands at the sides of the tab. This protection makes the port to be dust free. The USB charging port is used for charging which is just above the power button. This port can also be used with flash drives and also with other USB accessories as required.
Lastly camera applications gives a very dulled images as compared to other smartphone or ipad mini retina. And rest the rear camera is very fine for video chat.
