I can’t even believe how EARLY the blueberries are this year! I knew they were coming into season next month here in Vancouver and I was trying to get ahead of the pack and connect with a farmer who would accept bulk orders so i could make blueberry butter for the next year. So, I Googled “Blueberry farmers Vancouver” and ended up getting in contact with Matsqui Blue Farms – an incredible blueberry grower in my area who already has farm fresh, local, organically grown berries!! So I grabbed 10 pounds to start from one of his 19 varieties (he even delivered them to my door) and have been pureeing, canning, freezing and blueberrying my ass off for the past week. Next? More blueberries. Because if 20 jars of blueberry butter is a good thing, 40 must be doubly as good. Right?
