Indian Summer

Indian Summer...a period of warm weather in the late autumn.
Last weekend, we experienced an Indian Summer. Temps popped up to the mid 80's and people were sent into a furry of confusion over the climate change. Having already done the seasonal closet swap, I had to dig under my bed to pull out a top.
A few of the Frans headed downtown for brunch at Miss Lily's. Known more for it's nighttime atmosphere, the mood was much calmer during the midday.

Miss Lily's refers to themselves as a "Caribbean oasis in the middle of downtown Manhattan". The cuisine is Jamaican and I was interested to see what they had to offer...so were the Frans.

As expected there were a number of sauces to spice up your meal.

The restaurant also offers a variety of fresh juices. Melvin's Juice Box next door is squeezing and pressing fresh juice daily for the people.

Because great minds think alike, we each got the Jerk Pork Belly Hash. The pork had a little too much fat for my taste (personal preference), but the flavors were delicious. They mixed in sweet potato, onion and topped the egg with a tomatillo sauce.

The sun was so beautiful...but I'm ready for Fall.

Full and satisfied, we decided to talk a little walk after.

Love Nat's new bucket bag from Zara.

Stumbling upon this wall art in Soho, I could not help but snap a few shots.

We ended the evening with some Rose and appetizers in the West Village. When the weather is perfect I only want to be outside. We randomly stumbled upon Doppio. It is a small chain in the city, but the food was delicious and just right for the moment.

Warmer weather allows for one more Rose.

Calamari, Tuna Tartar, Octopus Salad...all my favorite nibbles.

So long Summer. Welcome Fall.
