Based on the Emmy Award–winning YouTube series The Lizzie Bennet Diaries.

Twenty‑four‑year‑old grad student Lizzie Bennet is saddled with student loan debt and still living at home along with her two sisters—beautiful Jane and reckless Lydia. When she records her reflections on life for her thesis project and posts them on YouTube, she has no idea The Lizzie Bennet Diaries will soon take on a life of their own, turning the Bennet sisters into internet celebrities seemingly overnight.

When rich and handsome Bing Lee comes to town, along with his stuck‑up friend William Darcy, things really start to get interesting for the Bennets—and for Lizzie’s viewers. But not everything happens on‑screen. Lucky for us, Lizzie has a secret diary.

The Secret Diary of Lizzie Bennet takes readers deep inside Lizzie’s world and well beyond the confines of her camera—from the wedding where she first meets William Darcy to the local hangout of Carter’s bar, and much more. Lizzie’s private musings are filled with revealing details about the Bennet household, including her growing suspicions about her parents’ unstable financial situation, her sister’s budding relationship with Bing Lee, the perils of her unexpected fame, and her uncertainty over her future—and whom she wants to share it with.

Hey everyone! Before I begin, I just want to address my how much I’ve been MIA. To be completely honest with you, I’ve had time. Which means that I could have been blogging if I wanted to. Lately though, I’ve just been really out of it. I hadn’t had any inspiration. I have this thing where I have to post a review after 3 non-review posts. But the thing is, sometimes, I really hate writing reviews because it can be hard for me to wrap my head around a book. But anyway! Let’s not ruin the mood because this is a super positive review.

If you have heard of the Lizzie Bennet Diaries web series then you must have been living under a rock. It’s a modern day adaptation on Pride and Prejudice and it was amazing. I don’t normally like classics but I loved this since it fit into today so well! It was really cool because I watched the web series and read the book side by side. I definitely recommend doing this unless you’ve already watched them. Each episode is only around 3 minutes so they’re extremely fast! There are 100 episodes altogether.

If you’ve watched the series, you might wonder how the book can add anything new BUT OH. IT DOES. IT DEFINITELY DOES! There were so many things in The Secret Diary of Lizzie Bennet that you would’ve never known. After all, they’re all her (and her family’s) deepest and darkest secrets.

Both the web series and the book are extremely authentic. It’s what I loved the most about it. Even though I knew that it was just a story, I literally felt things as though the characters were real. Their flaws and strengths weighed each other out very well. Most of the time in YA, when the girl’s like “eeww boys,” I get really annoyed but something about Lizzie made it all okay.

Seriously, I don’t know how I can recommend these to you. They are so worth it. I promise that you’ll love it! I was hooked in an instant and I couldn’t stop thinking about how amazing it was. Go now!

Have you watched/ read about Lizzie Bennet and her life? If you haven’t, you will right? Because how awesome are adaptations?
