STS #53: E. Lockhart and a New Laptop

I’ve cut back on my requesting and so in the past two weeks, I’ve received one review book. This is really good because I have so many other books that I was meant to finish 2 months ago. Hopefully, this means I can start catching up. Okay no, I’m kidding, that’s never going to happen. Along with the book (thank you to Allen & Unwin), I also bought a new laptop recently! I know it’s not really a book but I thought since I use it for blogging, I’ll talk about it anyway.

The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks was actually first published in 2008 but in 2015, Allen & Unwin are bringing it to Australia. To be honest, I don’t know much about this other than it’s about a girl in a debating club. It’s by E. Lockhart which is the author of We Were Liars. I was one of the black sheep that didn’t love that one but I’m excited to see what else she’s written. Plus, the Aussie cover is pretty dang cool!

My old laptop lived a very tough life with me throwing it everywhere. And lo and behold, it died because of it. After multiple drops, my laptop finally gave out. The keyboard literally popped off and cracked and all the frames are everywhere. It’s basically a very big mess. So, I went hunting for a new laptop. I ended up going for the 13″ Toshiba Satellite Z30. It’s lighter than a MacBook Air, thinner than a MacBook Pro and overall pretty great. It has an 128GB SSD which makes it start up so fast that I can barely blink. I think I’ve found the new love of my life.

Also just wanted to take a moment to mention Tab for a Cause. It’s a way you can donate to charity by literally just opening new tabs. No money required. You earn hearts for opening tabs and then you can pick which charities or causes you want to donate them to. When I stumbled across it, I couldn’t believe it either. More info at Tab for a Cause!
