Wet Wet WOW Facial Experience at spa esprit

Hi hi!!

So yesterday I had the chance to try the Wet Wet Wow Facial at spa esprit. I went to the one at Dempsey - their beauty emporium - which is essentially a all in one beauty stop. You can get body massage, facial treatments, hair stuff, nails stuff all done here. I particularly like the Dempsey location, tucked away in a semi foresty natural nook, and after your treatments, if you so wish, you can even pop by to House for a dish of truffle fries and a refreshing cocktail. Haha..

Before we go into the facial itself, I just want to share this bit which is really interesting for me.... the customised aromatherapy oil bar/ wall thingy so you choose an aromatic oil - and you can either get it neat - or purchase one of their body/ shampoo products and pick your scent where they will infuse your choice of products with the aromatic oil.. how cool is that? These are really high grade, very pure oils - some of which you can drip a drop into your tea (like peppermint), or even use on your skin.

I zoom in on the Geranium... cos that's my current obsession scent.

Having a facial at the spa esprit is a new experience for me, I have facials done before but all at skincare houses which I am already familiar with (lancome, clarins, shiseido, etc) so I also took a little tour around the beauty emporium. Shall share more pics at the end of this entry!

So anyway, I let the beauty therapist analyse my skin and decide which treatment would be the most suitable for me. My therapist is Debbie - who is the senior therapist there - recommended the wet wet wow facial since I didn't have too much concern - so hydration and detoxing is the way to go.

Here're the main steps of the facial treatment
(Wet Wet WOW 75 min, S$235.40) - which is good for dehydrated skin, acne and pigmentation - using the wet diamond techonolgy to infuse skin with a pharmaceutical cocktail, it detoxes the skin and energises the complexion, resulting in skin that's super soft and smooth.

1. relaxing scent whiff - basically you inhale this relaxing slightly herbal aroma and the therapist lightly pressed your neck and shoulders to prepare you for the treatment ahead
2. double cleansing - I went for the treatment with only sunscreen, powder and brows, so that the cleasning part would be as quick as possible. Never turn up for a facial with a full face of eye and lippy!
3. the Wet Diamond technology - essentially a machine that exfoliates your skin (wet microdermabrasion that will get rid of dead skin cells) in order to brighten and even out skintone. It feels like a gentle suction force that goes over my skin, quiet soothing actually.
4. I did extraction - since I haven't had one done for more than a year... and well, it is painful.. but the 'extracted' areas - my nose and a bit of chin felt super super mad clean post treatment!
5. this is followed up by a gel mask - which contains camomile tea, witch hazel, etc - it is very cooling and relaxing, much need to calm the skin which is prolly all red (and I get red super fast) from the extraction.
6. (I must have dozed off by this part) but I checked with Debbie what happened.. haha. The second mask in this treatment is applied - which is a herbal treatment - that repairs and hydrates the skin. While the mask is drying and setting, there's a neck and shoulder massage.
7. herbal mask is removed, and skin surface is given a final cleanse and finished with basic skincare applied.

When I looked at my face in the mirror, I was half expecting to see patches of red skin from the extraction (cos it was quite painful for me...which I guess if you go for regular ones it shouldn't be that painful) but my skin looks surprisingly calm and .....very clean. Very clear. I was told Debbie is very good at extractions and all the treatments at spa esprit are designed such that when you walk out of the place, your skin is ready to face the world. No downtime, no need to go home and recuperate cos your skin is all tender from the treatments. And this I am very impressed by.

Shall show you a few pics of my bare face after the treatment - taking lots of selfies for the purpose of this sharing!

What I like about the facial treatment:

- cleaned skin, and I mean the really deep cleaning. My nose area especially!
- noticeable brightening of the skin
- very very soft and smooth, especially the next day!

There are also other facial treatments at the beauty emporium (they have a branch at paragon too, fyi). Do check out their menu here to see what catches your fancy!

There is also plenty of retail choices - they have REN, Dr Hauschka, Sco..etc etc and even an actual flower shop!
Lots of organic, natural skincare products too.

Check out this manicure/ pedicure area!

and love the long corridor down the treatment rooms - every room is numbered, and uniquely furbished.

Ending this entry with a pic of the tea and cookie I had after the facial:

Hope you find this sharing useful, and thanks for reading!
