Review & Application: Ettusais BB Mineral Gel &

Hallo! This is a long overdue review of the new Ettusais BB Mineral Gel, which is now already available ($38 -- and now you can also find Ettusais at Sephora ION...how cool is that!) I had the chance to preview all their new products a couple of months ago - and like all previous Ettusais BB.. this is another winner in my books. Whenever I use an Ettusais BB cream I don't have to use a foundation - the finish is always lovely and just spot on. Everyone that I recommend this product and the other Ettusais BB creams to, they all love it.

So anyway, what is different about the new Mineral Gel formulation? This is supposed to have a dewy finish, the existing BB creams have a powdery smooth finish, and this Mineral Gel formula is supposed to be more lightweight, has a sheer finish. In other words, this BB Mineral Gel is perfect for summer use, just slap it on, and you are good to go.

Here's the product information:

Blemish balm meets Hydrating Gel in this BB Mineral Gel! This beauty essence base gives you baby-like complexion with a sheer and dewy finish. It is chemical-free, friction-free, fragrance-free, paraben and mineral oil-free, and cleanser-free! That's right, you don't need a makeup cleanser to remove this bb gel. Packed with ettusais Puru Puru ingredients, this BB gel formula spreads effortlessly onto skin; concealing imperfections with Unevenness Clear Complex G and smoothens out skin roughness with Salicylic Acid.

I got mine in the shade NB (natural beige) - it also comes in one other shade LB (light beige). Both shades are really similar though.. and if you are between MAC 15-25/ Chanel B 10--30, chances are that the Ettusais BB creams will suit you.

a quick comparison of the BB Mineral White - which is the other Ettusais bb cream I currently have (and I am very happy to report that Ettusais BB creams are the ones which I regularly do use and actually RUN out of ... not many base products can claim to have this 'honor' hahah). On first swatch and playing around just on my hand, I could feel that the Mineral White formula is slightly creamier and seems to have a tad more coverage. The Mineral Gel formula is a little more light in consistency. The finish of both... however, are so similar that you really can hardly tell which is which. Here's me applying the Mingeral Gel on one side of my face - it blends very easily, and disappears into my skin - the coverage is light and the finish is very natural. It looks a little less powdery smooth (comparing to the BB Mineral White and the original one) but more like a sheer smooth finish. Hope this half face comparison illustrate that soft sheer finish. I don't need to use a foundation after this bb cream. I will usually set this with a powder...usually the Ettusais BB Plus Mineral Powder. It gives a bit more coverage and sets the bb cream for the whole day. and here's the finished look - as you can see, the overall look is very polished and flawless. This is why I love the Ettusais BB creams. The technology behind their BB creams - really does give you that 'baby smooth' skin effect, which is very apparent in photos. They are quite long lasting (a good 8 - 10 hours) and the oil control factor is moderately good.
One thing I would point out though, although the Mineral Gel claims to be 'dewy' in terms of finish, don't let that term scare you... personally I don't think it is actually that dewy at all. There is no sheen, no shine at all. I guess when they say Mineral Gel... it is really more of a difference in terms of the formula which works out in hot summer days like now.

I enjoy the new Mineral Gel just as much as the other Ettusais BB creams.. but if you are starting out, or if you can't be sure which one to choose, my recommendation would be

if you have normal to oily skin - go for the Mineral BB White, and the original Mineral BB.
if you have normal to dry skin - go for the Mineral Gel.

Always set with their Mineral BB powder, or Mineral BB powder! These are really some of the finest and silkiest smooth setting powders with a hint of coverage out in the market. My sister swears by these and always have a stockpile in her collection.

In this look - I also applied just a bit of eyeliner on the outer corners of my eyes, and I find myself reaching for these Ettusais Cream eyeliner WP quite often. Both the Black and Brown ones are super creamy and I would say they are 7 out of 10 in terms of the smudgeproof scale, which is pretty impressive. The tip is very fine and you can draw precise lines with these eyeliners. The olive and pink ones are LE releases, but both the Black and Brown ones are permanent in the range ($23 each).

The eyeliners are easy to use, and they are super great for throwing into your makeup bag for touch ups and they don't require sharpening. Only downside could be that such push up liners usually contain only a little amount of product, and you find that you have to replenish these quite quickly if you use them daily.

Product info on these eyeliners:

This eyeliner is as easy to use as a pencil eyeliner, but achieves a thick, intense and creamy finish. Suitable to fill in between lashes and lower inner eye line for the illusion of larger eyes and thicker lashes too! Its ultra-moisturizing formula of Hyaluronic Acid and Glycerin also cares for the delicate skin around your eyes. This water-, sweat- and sebum-proof liner will survive the hottest day and the heaviest downpour!

Here's some quick swatches: I used the olive one (which has a metallic finish) in this 'eyelook' - it just serves to accentuate my eyes a bit...

Hope the overview on these Ettusais products have been useful and thank you for reading!!
