From One Mom to Another: Brittany's Blessings

Today I would like to introduce you to Brittany, one of the sweetest and gorgeous mommy bloggers out there!! She is a mommy to a precious 10 month old little girl (who, I might add, has the most beautiful blue eyes!) and a fur-baby named Louie! You can find Brittany writing about everything baby and in between over at Brittany's Blessings, on Twitter, and on Instagram (@brittnolan14)! Thank you Brittany for sharing your advice with all of us today!!!!

Something you wish you knew before having the baby:

That you cannot be Super Woman or Super Mom! I have had experience with babies almost my entire life through babysitting, little cousins, etc. Although I knew I would not be a perfect mom (far from it!), I think I wanted to prove to everyone that I could do it all without much help. I was quickly humbled when I realized that I could not do it all by myself. Before Kyleigh Mae was born, I knew my husband would be in incredible daddy and I, of course, allowed him to do a lot of tasks to help out, but I wanted to prove that I could do it all. I think the most important thing after having a newborn and getting home from the hospital is to rest, rest, rest! And now that Kyleigh Mae is 7 months old, I am still learning this! It's okay to not have a clean house, a perfectly happy baby, and dinner on the table every night. I think the labor and delivery process is proof that we are already "Super Women", relax and enjoy the sweet moments with your baby and family and don't be afraid to ask for help. :)

Most surprising mommy moment:
The amount of LOVE we are capable of giving. I knew that I would love my baby girl more than life, but goodness! It's always been easy for me to love on others, but when you have your own child, the love and joy that fills your heart is indescribable. I get emotional thinking about how much I love Kyleigh Mae. It's even more proof that God is so very real. :)

How has motherhood impacted your life all around?

My priorities have changed! It's no longer about me and what I want to do or what my husband and I want to do. We have a precious little baby that depends on us to keep her fed, well rested, and happy. Since I stay home with Kyleigh Mae, my days are so very busy tending to her and trying to keep up with her busy self. To be honest, I pictured me staying at home catching up on TV shows, cooking gourmet meals, having a clean house every day, and a happy baby! Ha! I am lucky to get the house cleaned once a week and I very rarely have a meal on the table for when my hubby gets home from work. I realize now how selfish I was before we had a baby. Kyleigh Mae has taught me so much about myself in the last 7 months.

Best piece of advice: Follow your mommy instinct; YOU know your baby better than anyone else! And do NOT compare yourself or your baby/child to others! You are an incredible mommy/parent whether you breast or bottle feed, whether you stay at home or work full time, or whether you buy baby food or make your own. Give yourself some credit, you're doing a great job! :)
