Review: Sephora+Pantone Universe Radiant Orchid Venus Lure Lip Balm

Purchased by Me

It’s about time that I got my hands on something Radiant Orchid, right? (It’s not like I’ve mentioned it on the blog or anything.) This Sephora Pantone Universe Radiant Orchid Venus Lure lip balm was the product I wanted most from the limited edition collection. While bright, bold Radiant Orchid may not be my thing, I’m all about a sheer, wearable finish. As a result, this lip balm is pretty much the Radiant Orchid of my dreams!

I haven’t had this for very long (it came home with me over the weekend), but I did want to get my post up ASAP as this lip balm is already sold out online. My nearest Sephora had several in stock, however, so hopefully you’ll be able to find it in stores!

Please keep reading to see my review and swatches of the new, limited edition Sephora Pantone Universe Radiant Orchid Venus Lure lip balm:

The Sephora Pantone Universe Radiant Orchid Venus Lure lip balm is for those of us to shy away from, say, Sephora’s Radiant Rush Matte Lipstick. The balm formula allows your natural lip color to show through, so you still get the Radiant Orchid tint- just not the full-on opacity of a lipstick. I love that this is a nice balance of pink and purple; it’s what I think of as true “orchid pink.”

This lip balm is also made with hyaluronic acid and has a cooling, slightly plumping effect- it feels lightweight, lightly hydrating, and soft on the lips. Due to the slippery texture, I only get about 2 hours of wear until the color begins to fade. The only thing I dislike about the Venus Lure lip balm is the scent: it smells like crushed up vitamins… maybe? I’ve had a hard time placing my finger on the scent, but that’s the closest thing I can think of!

Swatches:

Overall, this is definitely one to look for if you’re interested in dipping your toes into the Radiant Orchid trend. It’s $16 and can be found at Sephora stores.

Have you tried the Sephora Pantone Universe Venus Lure lip balm? Thoughts on this more wearable version of Radiant Orchid? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Thanks for reading!
