5 wallet-approved lip picks perfect for fall

Happy Friday! As mentioned in yesterday’s post, I recently took inventory of my makeup collection and rediscovered some pretty fab products I hadn’t used in awhile. I was surprised to find find a few lipsticks/stains that I once LOVED, but because of seasonal trends/preferences, they had fallen to the bottom of my makeup storage.

Since chilly weather is here to stay (I don’t even want to think about it…), I thought it would be fun to share my top 5 wallet-approved lip picks for fall! Please keep reading for mini reviews and swatches of my favorite fall lipsticks from the drugstore.

My 5 wallet-approved lip picks for fall

1. Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Sultry ($9.50): I absolutely adore matte lip products for fall/winter. Sultry is a rusty pinky-brown shade that, in my opinion, looks FABULOUS in a matte finish- plus, you can pair it with a barely-there eye look and be ready for the day in 5 minutes.

2. NYX Butter Lipstick in Pops ($6.00): A recent addition to my lipstick collection, Pops is for anyone who might normally shy away from lipstick- the formula is non-sticky and feels lightweight and comfortable. THIS is how I do the fall “nude” lip trend. It’s a my-lips-but-better shade that makes lips appear polished, not washed out. Full review HERE.

3. Milani Color Statement Lipstick in Black Cherry ($6.00): Vampy lips is quite possibly my favorite makeup trend of the cooler months! Black Cherry is a beautiful blackened berry-red, a super affordable way to try out deep lips without hurting your wallet. This one does tend to cling to lip lines (see swatch photo above), so make sure to prep lips with a lip pencil or balm. Full review HERE.

4. Milani Power Lip Lasting Gloss Stain in Raspberry Tart ($6.50): I love shades of berry pinks for both daytime and nighttime wear, and Raspberry Tart is no exception. These Power Lip gloss stains remind me of liquid lipsticks: they’re richly pigmented, lightly glossy, and have a nice finish on the lips. Full review HERE.

5. L’Oreal Colour Riche Caresse Wet Shine Stain in Lilac Ever After ($10.00): Lilac Ever After is one of those no-brainer, wear-with-anything shades of pinky-plum. What makes this formula stand out to me is that it starts as a liquid lipstick, but quickly dries down to a stain- meaning I don’t have to worry about reapplying every 20 minutes (though this lighter shade can be less obvious on lips than deeper colors). Full review HERE.

And some arm swatches, just in case you’re interested!
