WHAT’S ON THE MENU

We were invited to give Blue Apron a try—a meal delivery service that ships delicious, chef-designed meals to your front door. I was excited to give it a try because anything that saves time gets an A in my book. We tried it out last week and here is how it went…

We received our Blue Apron box. It was refrigerated, so even though we were not home when it arrived, everything was still ice-cold when we opened it. I was really impressed by each of the individually wrapped ingredients and how fresh they were. Blue Apron sends meals for two, four or six people. We of course chose six, and it was nice having the exact right proportions for each ingredient. They send three meals per week. We received Chicken & Black Bean Enchiladas, Whole Wheat Spaghetti and Meatballs, and Spring Root Vegetable Casserole. They each come with simple step-by-step instructions and can all be made in 40 minutes or less.

I did all of the prep and cooking, and Milla Plum helped assemble the enchiladas before baking. It was really good and also a lot of fun!

How it works…
- You choose between meat, poultry, and fish or vegetarian.
- Blue Apron delivers a box of three meals a week.
- There is no commitment, so you can skip or cancel service at anytime.
- Meals are $9.99 per person.
- Shipping is always free and Blue Apron ships to 80% of the country. (See a map of delivery zones here.)

We absolutely loved the experience. It cut out extra trips to the grocery store, last minute take-out or delivery meals and made dinner time easy. The food was delicious, too!

BONUS: Blue Apron is offering the first 250 Bleubird readers two meals for free, from their first Blue Apron order! You can sign up here.
